Acupuncture

Acupuncture has an extraordinary ability to change people’s lives and its effectiveness is the reason for its increasing popularity and acceptance by orthodox health practitioners. A survey recently in the Times described acupuncture as one of the best researched and most effective of the complementary medicines.

I have been using acupuncture for 10 years, primarily for pain relief for a wide range of conditions including:

  • Arthritis
  • Low back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Headaches
  • TMJ dysfunction
  • Soft tissue injuries
It is not painful to have done. We tend to put in between 5 to 10 needles surrounding the area of pain and leave them in for about 20 minutes. Acupuncture is often used in combination with other physiotherapy techniques such as massage or joint mobilisations. All the needles are sterile and one use only.
